Scothaus is manufactured with pride in Scotland by one of the UK's leading timber frame system fabricators: Scotframe Timber Engineering Limited.
Scothaus is designed to meet the demands of the UK housing market and our unique island climate, as well as to exceed existing and future Building Regulations/Standards towards the zero carbon target
You can have your Scothaus home delivered and constructed anywhere in the UK.
Scotframe's own quality assurance systems involve independent certification to several standards including ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) and UK Structural Timber Association Quality Assured.
Scotframe is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) which is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management.
Scothaus is manufactured by Scotframe Timber Engineering in a purpose-built, 75,000 sq ft factory in Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, and benefits from having direct access to the M73 motorway. This location allows us to supply Scothaus customers throughout the UK and beyond.
The Scothaus system is manufactured using state-of-the-art, computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment supplied from Germany by Weinmann. Use of this equipment by Scotframe's highly skilled workforce using ISO quality assurance systems means that your Scothaus home is the epitome of manufacturing excellence.
The Scotframe Technical Team take your architect's construction drawings and from these develop a set of computer-aided design (CAD) production drawings. The production drawings are then used to programme the various CNC machines which operate to manufacture your home to millimetre tolerances of joinery work. It is impossible to achieve on site the levels of timber system quality achieved in the controlled conditions of the Scothaus factory. After all, when was the last time you saw a new motor car being assembled on a driveway before handing over the keys to the owner? Why have your home built in the open air when you can have it constructed in our Scothaus factory?
Scotframe employs highly skilled and experienced craftsmen and technicians to manufacture your Scothaus home. The craftsmen work in the controlled conditions of the Cumbernauld production facility: controlled in terms of the environment itself - it is dry, warm and well-lit all year round; and controlled in terms of the quality assurance systems used to construct your Scothaus home. These conditions are far superior to the conditions pertaining on construction sites and mean that your Scothaus home is built to an extraordinary level of quality.
A comprehensive in-house design and technical team tends to every detail of your home, supported by a retained team of consulting structural engineers.
The Scothaus team help you realise that dream by working with you and your architect, to design the house to your imagination and specification and support you in obtaining statutory approvals for construction.
Once your selections have been made, we will provide you with a cost estimate for the Scothaus Core System.
Building a new home is exciting - but it also has the potential to be quite stressful managing all the elements and details on your own.
