Very soon, all new homes will be built this way

Scotframe have become the first Scottish licensee to manufacture a highly innovative new timber frame closed panel system which meets signposted CO2 emission targets for 2010,2013 & 2016 TODAY and will future proof new homes by dramatically reducing their energy costs in the future.

The Next Generation of Timber Frame Technology

The SupaWall® System is a closed timber-framed panel, usually comprising140mm studs sheathed both sides with Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and factory filled with Polyurethane foam insulation.

The interior side of the panel is faced with a vapour control heat reflective membrane  and an air gap is created between it and the internal wall cladding to form a service zone. The exterior side is faced with a breathable waterproof membrane and 50mm of   polyurethane foam cavity insulation.

Technical Specifications

SupaWall® panels are extremely thermally efficient and have been tested by the National Physical Laboratory who confirmed a U-value of 0.12 W/m2K. When typical cladding is taken into account the U-Value is 0.11 W/m2K

As walls, floors, ceilings and roofs can be made from SupaWall® panels, it is possible to provide a complete structural building envelope at these very low U values.  Buildings using SupaWall® have air permeability as low as1 m3/m2h@50pa and usually require the installation of a Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery (MVHR) system.

As an option, the 50mm polyurethane insulation on the cavity face of the timber frame can be omitted, giving U values with and without cladding of 0.17 W/m2K & 0.18 W/m2K respectively.
